Privacy Policy — Eco-PoWER Platform

01Data controller

The Eco-PoWER Platform is delivered as part of the PoWER Project (Promoting On Women Social Entrepreneurship in Rural Environments), an Erasmus+ co-funded initiative (Project reference 2024-1-ES01-KA220-ADU-000251790). The platform is hosted and operated on behalf of the project consortium by Argus Teknoloji A.Ş., which acts as data controller for personal data processed through the platform.

For any privacy question, you can reach us using the details in section 10.

02Data we collect

We only collect the data needed to run the platform and its services:

Account data

First and last name
Email address
Country of residence
Encrypted password (stored only as a one-way hash)
Account role (Woman entrepreneur, Mentor, or Administrator)

Activity data

Toolkit / OER module progress
Mentor booking requests and session details
Mentor profile information (expertise, languages, bio) for mentor accounts

Technical data

Basic, non-identifying log data needed to operate and secure the service

03How we use your data

To create and manage your account and authenticate you securely
To give you access to Open Educational Resources and track your learning progress
To connect you with mentors and manage one-to-one session bookings
To send essential service emails (e.g. booking confirmations and account notices)
To report aggregated, anonymised impact figures to the Erasmus+ programme

We never sell your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

04Lawful basis for processing

Under Article 6 of the GDPR we rely on:

Consent — given when you register and accept this policy; you can withdraw it at any time by closing your account.
Contract — to provide the services you request, such as mentor bookings.
Legitimate interest — to keep the platform secure and to report anonymised programme results.

05Sharing & processors

Your data is accessible only to the consortium partners and the platform operator on a need-to-know basis. When you book a mentor, the relevant mentor sees only the information required to hold the session (your name and the topic of your request).

We may use trusted service providers (for example, email delivery and hosting) who act strictly as data processors under written agreements and never use your data for their own purposes. Data is stored within the European Union / European Economic Area.

06Data retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we are required to keep limited records for programme reporting or legal obligations.

07Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
Request deletion (“right to be forgotten”)
Restrict or object to certain processing
Receive your data in a portable format
Withdraw consent at any time
Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority

You can update your name, email, country and password at any time from your account settings. To exercise any other right, contact us using section 10.

08Security

Passwords are stored using strong one-way hashing and are never visible to us. Access to the platform is protected by authenticated, role-based controls, and all traffic is encrypted in transit. We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data.

09Cookies

The platform uses only strictly necessary cookies and local storage required to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
